Where people go wrong

  • Multiplying by 52 weeks while ignoring unpaid leave and holidays.
  • Counting overtime hours at the regular rate.
  • Signing a contract with an hourly rate but no minimum hours or pay cycle.

FAQ

Should I use 52 or 50 weeks?

Use paid weeks actually worked; with unpaid leave, 50 weeks or less is more realistic.

Why is daily pay based on 8 hours?

Eight hours is a common full-time convention; if your shift differs, multiply actual hours by the rate.
